Multiplayer
Vice City multiplayer is VC:MP
If you want other people in the 2002 map, the project that publishes that client is VC:MP. A browser port is a different thing.
By GTA Vice City Online Editorial Desk · Method and limits
I read vc-mp.org and its features page rather than a gameplay clip. The homepage calls the mod free and lists races, deathmatch, and roleplay, with a cap of 100 players on a server. The features page says it supports retail version 1.0 and Steam games. It does not say it supports the 2021 Definitive Edition.

What you need
- The original Vice City PC game: retail 1.0 or a Steam original you already own.
- The VC:MP client from vc-mp.org. A Liberty City mirror listed client 0.4.7.1 in November 2025; confirm the version on the official download page before you install a mirror.
- A server from the in-client browser. This site does not run a server.

What VC:MP is not
It is not the browser game, not GTA Online, and not a FiveM server. Those are GTA V tools. Read roleplay servers if the name you saw was “Vice Roleplay”.
The VC:MP wiki describes itself as an old backup. Prefer the features page on vc-mp.org when the two disagree. Step-by-step install is on setup.
Questions
Is VC:MP made by Rockstar?
No. It is a separate multiplayer project at vc-mp.org. Rockstar’s Vice City page does not list it.
Can I use the Definitive Edition?
VC:MP’s features page names retail 1.0 and Steam originals. Plan on the original PC files, not the 2021 remaster.
