Vice City on PC

Two PC builds matter in 2026. Stores offer the Definitive Edition, and Rockstar also lists the original trilogy. VC:MP documents retail 1.0 and Steam originals; a new Rockstar purchase was not compatibility-tested here.

I read the Steam app page for the Definitive Edition and the VC:MP features page on the same day. Steam app 1546990 lists 10 GB available space for Vice City and 64-bit Windows 10. VC:MP says it supports retail 1.0 and Steam originals, which is a different line of the game from the 2021 remaster.

Which PC build does what

Checked 24 October 2026
Build	Sold now?	VC:MP
Definitive Edition (2021)	Yes, trilogy purchase	Not supported
Retail 1.0	Existing copy or lawful second-hand disc	Supported
Steam original	Delisted Oct 2021	Supported if you still own it

Rockstar also lists the original GTA trilogy. Do not confuse that product with the Definitive Edition. We did not install the current Rockstar-delivered original or establish VC:MP compatibility; check the supported executable with the project before buying for that purpose.

What I would check before buying

Steam app 1546990 is the Vice City Definitive Edition page. Its 10 GB storage requirement is for Vice City, not a combined installation of all three trilogy games.
Minimums on app 1546990: 64-bit Windows 10, Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD FX-6300, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 760 2 GB or AMD Radeon R9 280 3 GB, and 10 GB available space.
The original game is 32-bit. PCGamingWiki notes save locations and the delist date if you still have that install.

Multiplayer steps are on VC:MP setup. Purchase buttons stay on Get the game.

Questions

Can I still buy the original 2003 PC version on Steam?

The original Steam listing was delisted in October 2021. Rockstar separately offers an original-trilogy store page today; this does not prove its delivered executable works with VC:MP.

What are the Steam minimums?

The Definitive Edition Steam page lists 64-bit Windows 10 and 10 GB available space for Vice City, not the entire trilogy. Recheck the store page before you buy; specs move.
