What happened to DOS Zone Vice City
The browser version people remember from late 2025 is not a page you can open now. The platform is still there. The Vice City game URL is not.

I requested the DOS Zone home page and the Vice City game path on 24 October 2026. The home page loaded. The Vice City path returned 404. I am not linking a dead game URL as if it still played.

Short timeline
- December 2025: reports, including GTA BOOM, described a browser build and a large first-day audience. The same coverage said a free demo was closed and an upload of the original files was required.
- 22 December 2025: XDA's original article was published. Its DMCA update is dated 26 December at 20:12 EST, not 22 December. The exact removal date is not established here.
- 24 October 2026: this site’s check found a 404 on the Vice City page.
Quenq’s splash still named “DOS Zone Team” on the day I tested it. That credit is not the same as the dos.zone game page being online. Read the Quenq check before you assume the projects are one site.
Yahoo’s write-up described a 56 MB startup and high memory use for the map. Those figures are from that article about the DOS Zone build, not a new measurement of Quenq.
Questions
When did the takedown get reported?
XDA's article was first published on 22 December 2025, but its DMCA update is marked 26 December at 20:12 EST. It reports a Take-Two notice through Ebrand; those editorial timestamps do not establish the exact removal date.
Did the whole DOS Zone site go offline?
No. On 24 October 2026 dos.zone still loaded. The Vice City game page did not.
